The element connection rubber seals are provided with 10 lips, 5 of which for the pressures that generate inside and 5 of them for those which can develop from the outside groundwater. This special patented design allows incrementing the tightness with the increase of the service pressures.
Watertight polyethylene manhole lid
Following the requirements of its clients, KMC developed a watertight polyethylene inspection chamber cover. The network often needs to be made hermetic. The factors can be different, but the solution is the same. By its 580 mm diameter, it can be easily installed under the dia 600 cast iron covers. This will allow performing all the maneuvers while keeping the design standards unchanged.
Load spreader plate
If the manhole is installed in traffic open areas, the load spreader plate is necessary, as it transfers most of the static and dynamic loads coming form the soil to the underground instead of straight on the manhole. The load spreader plate can be made of concrete, of plastic material or can be casted. In order to avoid collapses, it is most important to place it on a soil which has already reached a good load bearing capacity with a compaction of 98% (Proctor) and in any case with an Ev2 measured module of deformation not lower than 100 MN/m2. – The hole of the load spreader plate shall be of 4 cm wider than the manhole neck. – The manhole neck extremity shall be inserted in the hole of the load spreader plate for the half of its height.
Telescopic covers and drains in nodular cast iron
The square-frame covers and drains in class C 250 nodular cast iron have been purposely developed for our product series Easy Gully and Easy-Line DN 300 and DN 400 mm and feature a special extension of the frame that allows – thanks to a purposely designed seal – to make the system fully impermeable and watertight, leaving in any case the parts independent and thus enabling them to adapt to the final level with a tolerance of approx. 15 cm.
Pipe fitting rubber seals
The rubber seals for the connection of the pipes have a special design which allows incrementing the tightness with the increase of the service pressure. These rubber seals and the dedicated KMC hole saws ensuring the tightness at the service pressures specified in the standard even keeping an offset of +/- 5°. Thanks to the extended lip, in particular heavy conditions, a stainless steel hose clamp can be used.
Hole saw
The use of the KMC hole saw has an essential importance. It allows in fact making the hole of the correct dimension, which is needed to impart the right compression to the seal. Even though the cut line is drawn on the base of the manhole, any other drilling method, rather than using the hole saw, could not ensure the correct tolerances.
